Event Details

We are thrilled to have secured bestselling author Patrick Gale for an event at CCB. In conversation with Carol Ackroyd, this event is nearly 32 years to the day since Patrick’s first novel was published and marks Tinder Press’s relaunch of his back-list in handsome new editions. His new novel Take Nothing With You will be published in August.

Patrick Gale’s sixteenth novel, A Place Called Winter, was a Radio 2 Book Club selection and shortlisted for the Costa Novel Prize, the Walter Scott Prize and the Green Carnation Award. It is now being developed as a BBC serial. His two part film, Man in an Orange Shirt, was aired on BBC 1 last summer to resounding acclaim.

He is a patron of the Charles Causley Trust and the Penzance Lit Fest, a director of Endelienta and artistic director of the North Cornwall Book Festival. He plays the cello and lives on the last farm in Cornwall.

Sponsored by The Lamb Inn at Sandford – a community focused village pub open all day for use by one and all. ‘We are delighted to be able to support the great work carried out by Crediton Community Bookshop does for all the people of  the area. Books are important and therefore so are bookshops!’
