We have been delighted to work with many Devon authors, including Nick Arnold of Horrible Science at our open day, and the late and much missed Mal Peet who did us the honour of officially opening the shop in 2013 and launching his last novel ‘The Murdstone Trilogy’ at our 2014 AGM.
It’s been fantastic working with children’s author Babette Cole who entertained children and adults alike at the launch of her mid-Devon tale ‘James Rabbit and the Giggleberries’ and also helped facilitate our first literacy workshop with local schoolchildren.
We have also had the pleasure to host events with performance poets Matt Harvey & Laurence Sail, cycling connoisseur William Fotheringham and many others including local self-published authors, poets and illustrators.
We are excited that the move to our new shop will provide us with the facilities to develop a tantalising event programme in the coming months!
CCB is developing a programme of activities at the shop for adults and children including author events, holiday book-clubs, storytelling, reading & writing groups, quizzes & other literary delights.
We actively promote national literacy campaigns and book giveaways like World Book Day & World Book Night and aim to make books and reading accessible to all! Keep up to date though our website and Facebook page or by calling into the shop!
We are proud to partner with local literary, arts and children’s organisations providing books and running pop up shops at libraries, festivals and fairs.
We are proud of our town and the vibrant community spirit nurtured here. To find out more about Crediton here are some links.
We host everything from book launches to workshops, poetry slams to children’s events at CCB. If you would like to hold an event at CCB, get in touch with our team on 01363 774740 or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
